Introduction

New Creation Cathedral was founded by Marcellous Ford on June 6, 2007.  Mr. Ford was introduced to drugs and alcohol at the age of 13.  It was not long after, when he became addicted to drugs and alcohol. So much, the addiction eventually took full control of his life.  Eleven years later, after trying several different methods to become free of the addiction, he tried Jesus.  On May 15, 1994, in the privacy of his own home, he asked the Lord Jesus to help with this problem.  For 6 months, he was free from addiction.  Because Mr. Ford did not have the proper guidance in dealing with addictions, he fell back into his old ways.  He desired to be free, but did not know how.  Finally, on January 22, 2002 by divine appointment, he was able to become a resident of Victory Gospel Chapel (now Victory Gospel Cathedral) Spiritual Growth Center.  There he received the guidance, knowledge and experience needed to walk in deliverance from addiction.  But, not only did Mr. Ford find deliverance, he found purpose.

In January 1995, Mr. Ford received a vision from the Lord.  In this vision the Lord revealed that Mr. Ford would help men and women who were bound by drugs and alcohol be delivered and live prosperous lives.  By providing residence, teaching the Word of God (the Bible, which is what produces change) and guidance to enter back into society, all at no cost.  When Mr. Ford arrived at Victory Gospel Cathedral (VGC) Spiritual Growth Center (SGC) in 2002, he saw the vision before his very eyes.  In a few months he accepted his call to ministry as a Pastor and Home Director to pioneer a church and spiritual growth center (or Christian rehab home).   However, over the next 8 years, three times Mr. Ford turned away from his calling and as a result fell from grace, back into an addictive lifestyle.

In May 2010, Mr. Ford came to terms with himself.  He accepted and embraced the fact, he is a pastor and home director called to help others that are going through what he went through.  He finally put aside his own plans and desires, and re-entered into Victory Outreach Church Fort Worth Christian Recovery Home on September 2, 2010.  Mr. Ford had previously been a resident in 2008-2009.

While at VGC SGC, Mr. Ford received ministry training, classroom education and wisdom from Bishop Donny Banks for 42 months.  Furthermore, he received even more training and wisdom from Pastor Darryl Ware of Victory Outreach Church Fort Worth, where he spent 18 months.  Mr. Ford is sold out to fulfilling the purpose of God on his life, in pioneering New Creation Cathedral and the Christian Rehab Home.

New Creation Cathedral (NCC) is a 501(c)3 (pending),  independent, non-denominational church dedicated to preaching and teaching the Word of God to any and all who has an ear to hear.  Mr. Ford believes in taking the Word of God to meet the people (in need), right where they are; for example, evangelism.  The foundation scripture is II Corinthians 5:17, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  NCC specializes in the Christian Rehab Home (CRH).  CRH foundation scripture is II Peter 1:10, Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.

Since startup in 2007, NCC has mainly focused on evangelizing the youth in at-risk neighborhoods.  NCC has led over 200 souls to the Lord, with a current prayer list of about the same.  Mr. Ford prays daily for every person, ministry and business on the prayer list.  The next step for NCC is to start the satellite ministry in September 2011.  The satellite ministry is the prelude to the CRH.  It will lay the foundation in the community via evangelism, bible studies and community functions, i.e. Rallies.  After one year of satellite ministry, the CRH will open, providing free residence, clothes, food and Christian Drug and Alcohol Rehab via the Word of God.

Needs Assessment

One purpose of this proposal is to outline the details of operation of the Christian Rehab Home and Satellite Ministry.  However, the main purpose is to highlight the need for such ministries and the financial requirements.  The beneficiaries are those bound by drugs, alcohol, gangs and any other criminal lifestyle, who desire to change.  The Word of God is the only thing which can produce true, permanent change.  The residents of CRH will receive daily instruction on change directly from the Bible.  They will not only receive instruction in the classroom, but in everyday activities.  The CRH rules and procedures are written directly from the Word.  Each resident is held accountable for their actions; to adhere to guidelines of the CRH.  Accountability produces change and lasting principles.  Therefore, when residents graduate the CRH, they have the tools, experience and a renewed mind to remain free from drug/alcohol abuse.

The CRH will provide food, clothes and shelter (at no cost to the resident); the three essentials of human life.  In doing so, the CRH enables individuals who desire true change, the ability and means to focus on addressing their problems and issues to receive change.  Simply stated, the CRH removes the burden of providing the needs of everyday living so individuals can receive change.  The individuals, who need New Creation Cathedral Christian Rehab Home the most, can not afford to pay; they do not have insurance or employment.  Many of them desire to be free from drug and alcohol abuse.  However, they do not have the resources, knowledge or the strength to be free on their own.  The CRH will be the resource that provides the knowledge and gives strength to those at the bottom of life’s pit.  The CRH is the last way out, for those who have known no way out.

In order to meet this community need, the Christian Rehab Home need:

·         Facility for satellite ministry

·         Fundraiser locations

·         Facility for Christian Rehab Home and Church

·         Passenger Van

The Satellite Ministry Facility will evangelize and witness five times per week, while providing prayer and counseling to the community.  It will be a constant witness, a light, a place of refuge in the community.  Furthermore, it will host a weekly bible study and food give-away to those in the community, especially, reaching out to the children and youth.  For one year, the satellite ministry will lay the foundation, while serving as a place and time for research and development for the policy, procedure and curriculum for the CRH.

Ideally, the satellite ministry facility will be an apartment or home in Stop Six, Eastwood, Meadowbrook or Woodhaven.  The neighborhood will be in an area of high drug and crime.

The Fundraiser Locations are places where the CRH raise funds to support daily operations, i.e. utilities, transportation, food, etc.  There is a need for twelve different locations (ideally speaking), to hold one fundraising event per month at each location, for a total of twelve fundraising events per month.  Fundraiser will consist of setting a donation table outside the store front of a business with good walk-in traffic, giving the businesses and patrons an opportunity to help set drug addicts free.

The Fundraising procedure:

·         Always greet patrons with joy and a smile

·         Only present opportunity to donate after patron has completed business at hand

·         Fundraisers first introduce themselves, inform patrons of the cause, then give an opportunity to donate

The CRH and Church Facility will house the CRH residents and facilitate classroom education and training; as well as everyday living.  Furthermore, it will facilitate church services for CRH residents and church members.  There are three phases to CRH rehab process: 1.) Resident – similar to inpatient treatment; 2.) Work Release – similar to outpatient treatment; 3.) Church Membership – similar to after care treatment.  The church facility is vital to every aspect of the CRH.  First, to the rehab process; providing continued treatment via preaching and teaching of the Word of God in church services.  Secondly, to the financial needs; in the future, the church membership will support the CRH via tithes and offerings.

Ideally, the CRH and church facility will be attached or detached on the same property in Stop Six, Eastwood, Meadowbrook or Woodhaven.  It will be an existing facility or new construction, located in a high drug and crime neighborhood.

The Passenger Van will provide transportation for the CRH to evangelize, fundraise and to do other ministry activities.  Also, the van will provide transportation for members and visitors to attend church services and functions.
